What is a home inspection and why is it important?

A home inspection identifies, explains, and documents the functions of major systems and components. These include:

Site

Roof

Exterior

Structure

Foundation

Electrical

Heating

Insulation

Plumbing

Interior

Energy Efficiency

A thorough inspection and client consultation takes between 3 to 5 hours. Included in the consultation is a walk-through of the property with the inspector, and the on-site, immediate, presentation of the written report.

Following the inspection, Rocky will review the report with you in detail, making sure all is fully understood. If you are out of town or otherwise unable to meet with Rocky personally, the complete report (with photos) can be emailed to you, and a conference call can follow at your convenience. An on-site meeting can also take place at a later date.

You are encouraged to ask questions and discuss any concerns you might have in order to ensure that you obtain the full benefit of the inspection and report.

Note

A home inspection is visual and non-invasive.
Specialized inspection tools are used to test some of the systems listed.
